classic American muscle car the iconic 1969 Dodge Charger from the Dukes of Hazard , better known as General Lee. Here we have one of the Dodge Chargers that were once in the role of Duke Of Hazzard The General Lee, equipped with a 2.5″ dual exhaust system with Flowmaster 40’s, showing off its vocal capabilities. According to the author of the video this exhaust system made the car way too loud for the taste of his neighbors, so the poor man was forced to make some changes. I think that there is nothing wrong with the way his great looking General Lee sounds like! And after all, living in a democracy means that sometimes you have to put up with other people`s needs. And in this case, that means leaving your neighbor alone to put a great and loud exhaust on his car, just as General Lee deserves! The General is an orange 1969 Dodge Charger 440 with the 440-cubic-inch Magnum V8 engine. Over 300 Dodge Chargers were used on the show (at least 3 per episode) because once a car was jumped it was not used again The shock of the impact completely destroyed the structural integrity of the ca, so at the end of the filming only 17 original General Lee were remaining. A full steel roll cage protected the driver and passenger and a special weight box was placed in the trunk. A glasspack muffler helped give the General its signature throaty roar. A padded roll bar was installed in the driver’s compartment, and a custom push bar was mounted to the General’s front end.
